Kramer VS Kramer (A Movie Reflection)

Modern family is always addressed as sophisticated, unstable, and unrestricted. With the influence of fast pacing technologies human beings are eaten up by a new system, which I think causes the disparity of families between its members. Later they will only find out that the people whom they’ve loved had gone away. Such as the example of too much work, parents don’t have any more time with their children. The value of emotions and feelings are being replaced by material things. In exchange of affectionate love children tend to be juvenile and delinquent. Without proper guidance by significant people they become like stray cats with no home to live. However, from the movie Kramer vs. Kramer we are given the idea that not all the time products of broken families are delinquent. It is not always a necessary effect but it really matters on how a child is nurtured and nourished. Moreover, the movie teaches us that despite every tragic event, something good will come out. Meaning, the problems that we encountered are not to bring us down but to make us stronger. Because of problems we become aware of our weaknesses. All of these wonderful messages are implicitly conveyed by the movie, which deserved a commendatory recognition.

In the movie Joana left her husband and his son for the reason that she can’t anymore take the responsibility that her husband had given to her. She wanted to talk to him but Ted seems to not mind the importance of dialogue. He prefers to focus on work than his wife, who needs much of his attention. Thus, in order to get that lost attention, Joanna left the house and they got divorced. More than 15 months passed, Joanna came back and planned to get custody of her son. But Ted don’t want to give his son so easily since after Joanna left they’ve become closer with his son. Ted changed. He had much time already for his son. He even sacrificed his work because Billy got sick. The issue of custody ran to court. Both really wanted their son. Ted lost the fight. However, the boy remained with Ted since Joanna had found home for Billy, which is for good.
Because of the divorce Ted learned his weaknesses and problems. He realized why his wife had left. It was because of him. Out of that unfortunate experience, Ted grew stronger especially in personality. He had become a better person. Love had flourished inside the house. We saw it on how he had tried his best to balance work and the needs of his son. In school and home, Ted attended everything.
The movie ended with no definite action. On the scene after Joanna gave the custody to Ted.  I think Joanna and Ted ended up together again. It was not only Ted that changed but also Joanna.  Through the hug, I think it was a sign of forgiveness and love, which I think is a good suggestion that they ended up together again.
